Propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG) are the two carrier liquids in e-liquid. The ratio between them changes how a liquid behaves.
PG - Thin, so it wicks easily in small pods and higher-resistance coils. - Carries flavour well. - Gives more throat sensation.
VG - Thicker, so it needs a coil and pod designed for it. - Produces more vapour. - Smoother inhale, slightly muted flavour.
Common ratios - **50/50.** Suits pod kits and mouth-to-lung coils. Most 10ml nicotine-salt liquids are around this ratio. - **70/30 VG/PG.** Suits open direct-to-lung tanks and sub-ohm coils.
Check the device or coil specification before choosing a ratio. High-VG liquid in a tight pod is a common cause of dry, burnt-tasting hits.
