Mouth-to-lung (MTL) and direct-to-lung (DTL) describe how you inhale. Neither is better; they suit different preferences and different hardware.

Mouth-to-lung - Tight draw, similar in feel to drawing on a cigarette. - Higher-resistance coils and lower power. - Usually 50/50 e-liquid or nicotine salts, often at higher nicotine strengths. - Less vapour, so a pod or bottle lasts longer.

Direct-to-lung - Open draw straight into the lungs. - Lower-resistance coils and higher power. - Usually higher-VG e-liquid at lower nicotine strengths. - More vapour and faster liquid and battery use.

Choosing Match the e-liquid to the device rather than the other way round: check the coil resistance and the manufacturer's recommended liquid type before buying.
